REGULATIONS
·
Foreigners travelling to Brazil as
researchers, visiting professors and
members of cultural or scientific
missions require a cultural visa.
·
Nationals of the following countries,
whose stay in Brazil will not exceed 90
days and who will not receive any
payment in Brazil, are exempted from
this type of visa: Austria, Finland,
France, Iceland, Italy, The Philippines,
Poland, Portugal, Spain and United
Kingdom.
·
Passport should be valid for at least
six months.
·
First entry into Brazil must be made
within 90 days from the date the visa is
issued. It is the responsibility of the
applicant to make sure the application
is lodged accordingly.
·
Registration with the DPMAF within 30
days of arrival in Brazil. For this
purpose, make sure to take the second
copy of the application form which will
be returned to you duly stamped by this
Consulate.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A VISA APPLICATION
·
Passport (the Consulate reserves the
right not to endorse soiled, damaged or
defaced passports).
·
2 application forms, completed and
signed by the applicant. (Application
forms are available at the Brazilian
Consulate).
·
2 passport-size photographs.
·
Proof of means of support during the
stay of the applicant in Brazil. Bearers
of this type of visa are not allowed to
receive remuneration from a Brazilian
source, except payment for travel,
accommodation as well as expenses
allowances.
·
A letter from the institution in Brazil
to which the applicant will be linked
sponsoring the trip (if applicable) and
stating its nature and duration.
·
Certificate of Prosecution/Conviction
History or an equivalent document must
be produced. This certificate may be
requested at the Sofia Municipal
Tribunal of Justice. Note that it may
take two to eight days for the document
to be issued.
·
Certificate of vaccination, if necessary
(see enclosed information).
·
Processing time is of eight working
days.
