REGULATIONS
·
Permanent visa may be granted to legal
dependants of a Brazilian national or of
an alien holding permanent resident
status in Brazil.
·
In case of name change due to marriage,
passport must be amended accordingly.
·
Passport should be valid for at least
six months.
·
First entry into Brazil must be made
within 90 days from the date the visa is
issued. It is the responsibility of the
applicant to make sure the application
is lodged accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS FOR A VISA APPLICATION
From the applicant
·
Passport (the Consulate reserves the
right not to endorse soiled, damaged or
defaced passports).
·
Photocopy of the identifying pages of
the passport authenticated by the
Consulate.
·
Three application forms completed and
signed by the applicant.
·
Three passport-size photographs.
·
Certificate of Prosecution/Conviction
History .Certificate of
Prosecution/Conviction . This document
may be obtained at a Reginonal Tribunal
of Justice or at the Sofia Municipal
Tribunal of Justice. Note that it may
take up to 10 days for the document to
be issued.
·
Marriage certificate: if one of the
spouses is a Brazilian national and the
marriage certificate was issued in
Bulgaria, it will have to be registered
before hand at this Consulate; if issued
in Brazil, an authenticated photocopy
will be required.
·
In case of minors from divorced parents,
a court order of custody must be
produced.
·
Birth certificate (long form) of the
children legalised by this Consulate,
with an authenticated photocopy.
·
Proof that the applicant resides in
Bulgaria (e.g. a letter from the
Register of Electors, or utility bills.)
Based on these documents a Certificate
of Residence will be issued by this
Consulate.
·
Certificate of vaccination, if necessary
(see information enclosed).
·
Most documents submitted will have to be
legalised by this Consulate, or
authenticated photocopies will have to
be taken. You will be duly instructed
when lodging these documents.
From the Brazilian spouse or permanent
resident in Brazil
·
Authenticated photocopy of the Brazilian
identification card.
·
TERM OF RESPONSIBILITY (available at the
Consulate), with witnessed signature.
The Consulate can witness signatures of
Brazilian nationals upon presentation of
their passport and permanent residents
of Brazil upon presentation of their
passport and RNE card. In both cases the
applicant must attend this Consulate in
person. Foreigners not resident in
Brazil must have their signatures
witnessed by a Notary Public.

Processing time is a minimum of eight
weeks, for couples married for less than
5 years, and one week for couples
married for more than 5 years.
